The Process
Leading Through the Tension: A Three-Phase Journey
We do not offer a one-size-fits-all solution. We facilitate a series of deep, transformative conversations designed to help your leadership team make sense of a fragmented reality. The process consists 3-5 core conversations (minimum 3 hours each), interspersed with asynchronous work (research, questionnaires, text synthesis).
Phase 1: Diagnostic & Alignment Sprint
Defining the Essence & Collecting Perceptions
Before we can decide, we must see clearly. In this phase, we break the silence around difficult truths.
- Enabling Safe Brave Conversations: Establishing the conditions where leaders can speak with courage and care, moving beyond learned rituals.
- Defining the Essence: Separating the organization's timeless quality from its current form. What stays when everything else changes?
- Collecting Perceptions: Gathering internal and external data—what is happening in the world, the field, and within your own walls?
- Sense-Making Tools: Utilizing Risk Management, SWOT, or Scenario Planning to interpret the data, not just collect it.
Phase 2: Strategic Decision Making
Preserving Essence, Letting Go of Form
Analysis without action is paralysis. Here, we translate insights into decisive strategy.
- Mental Freedom: The courage to let go of forms that no longer serve the essence (e.g., Kodak letting go of film to capture memories).
- Developing Responses: Defining strategic moves based on prioritized risks or scenario preparations.
- Integration: Embedding the new direction into budget, quality management, and brand narratives.
- The Museum Concept: Consciously deciding what practices belong in the museum of the past to free up space for the future.
Phase 3: Execution Architecture & Adaptive Habits
Sustaining the Culture & Involving Stakeholders
Strategy dies without a culture that supports it. This phase ensures the transformation sticks.
- Stakeholder Involvement: Deciding who to involve, how deeply, and about what. Balancing transparency with confidence.
- Narrative Building: Crafting a simple, powerful story that explains the transformation: "We started as..., our essence is..., therefore we will..."
- Sustaining Safe Brave Culture: Moving from a project mindset to a permanent adaptive habit.
- Letting Go: Institutionalizing the ability to discard outdated practices without losing identity.
The future is not something we predict;
it is something we navigate together.
